In 1978 I earned my BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) Degree Cum Laude from the University of New York College at New Paltz, New York.
I have exhibited my work in a number of juried group exhibits and one woman shows. Locally (Rochester, N.Y.) as a past “artist in residence” at the Gallery Store of the Memorial Art Gallery at the University of Rochester; twice selected for inclusion at the Fingerlakes Art Exhibition, The Memorial Art Gallery. Other N.Y. galleries include the Champagnat Gallery at Marist College Poughkeepsie, The Schweinfurth Art Center Auburn and the Westbeth Theater Center Gallery in the West Village, NYC. I have participated in many commercially sponsored group shows through out NYS. I have also exhibited in galleries in Florida and Kentucky.
My art work is widely collected by individuals from nearly every state in the union…New York, Arizona, California, Texas, Kentucky, Ohio, New Mexico, Georgia, Missouri, Florida, North and South Carolina, Washington, Pennsylvania…to name a few…Internationally held by collectors in Canada, England, Germany, Austria and Italy.
Participated as a member of Art Associations and Fine Art Galleries…The Memorial Art Gallery of the U of R, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim Museum and the Westbeth Theater Arts Center.
I have taught innovative art classes through the Cobblestone Art Center in Victor New York.
My life challenge and real joy is creating unique art pieces in a vast variety of mediums, using interesting techniques. Subject matter span genres from photo realism to lyrical abstract and mixed media combinations of both.
Over the last several years, I have explored the use of common household items as my base material, my “canvas” if you will…This expansion in mediums has introduced me to working in wood, leaded and plain glass, ceramics and metal.
Throughout my life as an active artist from my early college days to the present, I have always had a dog at my side…in my old college art studio, my best buddy Zee, kept me company and often wore home the days newest color additions on her coat!
I have united two of my favorite obsessions…my love of dogs with my devotion to the creation of unique and expressive art pieces!
I specialize in personal fine art portraits and unique art pieces of ‘mans best friend' through *Canine Commemoratives*…a lasting tribute to our most cherished friends and working companions.
